Background Information/Experience

Dr. Christine Hye-Su Kim has been an SPMCC faculty member for over three years. A highly decorated graduate of USC, she has performed all over the world. Some of her favorite performances have been at Carnegie Hall and the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena as well as with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra at the Toronto Centre for the Arts where she played the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 Op. 18, 2008 Ms. Kim launched the Glenn Gould School Piano Virtuoso Series in Toronto and appeared in "Person to Person" on Canadian national TV (TVO). She has given radio and magazine interviews for NPR and MUSO. Early on in her training, she was a scholarship student at the Colburn School of Performing Arts. Aside from having taught as part as the adjunct faculty at USC and the Colburn School, Ms. Kim was a beloved teacher at California School of the Arts, San Gabriel Valley, Arts High School. When she isnít teaching, Ms. Kim likes to go to concerts at the Disney Concert Hall and also frequents Disneyland on a regular basis.
