Ivana Grubelic Malo
MM, London College of Music

Ivana Grubelic Malo was born in Sibenik, Croatia. She showed to be a promising pianist from an early age and was performing internationally in Europe from the age of 16 as a chamber musician and soloist.

In 1993 Ivana went on to study at the Music Academy in Zagreb under Sretna Mestrovic. In 1999 she graduated with top honors and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. She continued her studies at the London College of Music, where she completed a Master’s degree in Piano
Performance under the tuition of Raphael Terroni, while also working with Philip Mead and Martino Tirimo.

During her studies, Ivana attended master classes with many prominent pianists including Marina Horak, Edith Picht-Axenfe, Alberto Portugheis, Tatiana Orloff-Tschekovsky, Penelope Roskell, Peter Feuchtwanger and Malcolm Binns. Ivana also worked with and assisted Professor Carola Grindea in the organization of ISSTIP (International Society for the Study of Tension in Performance) and editing of the ISSTIP Journal.

She had her debut recital at the Regent Hall in 2001 in London, organized by the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe. She has pursued doctoral work in Piano Performance at the USC Thorton School of Music studying Piano with Anne Perry. Ivana is an active performer and teacher. She frequently records on film soundtracks, and was recently featured alongside the Prague National Symphony on a soundtrack recording. She has also been featured on other soundtracks with The Budapest Symphony, The Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra and the Budapest Strings Symphonic Orchestra.
