Background Information/Experience

Jonathan Lucas is a versatile jazz pianist and electronic music composer/producer with extensive classical training.

He is a Southern California native educated at the Colburn School, Interlochen Arts Academy, and University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Jonathan teaches classical and jazz piano to students all ages, and specializes in teaching young adult and adult students looking to explore all facets of music, expand their understanding of harmony and developing skills in songwriting.

His musical studies started at the age of seven, studying classical piano. By the age of eleven he was a member of the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus where he performed in two operas with the LA Philharmonic, visited Italy and Canada, and performed at both the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Hollywood Bowl. He has studied under renowned jazz faculty Geri Allen, Ellen Rowe and Bob Hurst.

 

Recent/Current Career Events

Jonathan currently works with his brother as a songwriter and producer at 3 Sigma Audio, a music software company based out of Los Angeles.
