Student Tuition 

Individual Lesson Rates with Artist-Instructors
30-minute lessons: $35/lesson
45-minute lessons: $50/lesson
60-minute lessons: $64/lesson

Individual Lesson Rates with Master Teachers
30-minute lessons: $38/lesson
45-minute lessons: $55/lesson
60-minute lessons: $75/lesson

Tuition Rates may be adjusted periodically.  SPMCC will always send out notification before a tuition rate adjustment.  To make sure you receive all notification, please check that your current email and phone information is up-to-date in your student’s SPMCC file at the front desk.

Fees and Payment
All enrolled students are required to register for our convenient automatic billing (autobill) program. Lesson fees will automatically be withdrawn from the account of your choice, on the 25th of each month for the following month’s lessons. SPMCC accepts VISA, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards.  Please note that SPMCC does not accept American Express.  SPMCC also take cash (exact change only), and checks made out to “SPMCC.”

A fee of $10 will be added for cards or accounts that are declined.

Absences/Missing Lessons (“Lesson Cancellation”)
If you need to miss a lesson, let us know ASAP by emailing southpasadenamusic@gmail.com, calling 626.403.2300, or informing the front desk receptionist AT LEAST 24 hours in advance.  You must inform the scheduling staff about your absence, not only your instructor.  These lessons may be made up!  Please contact us about scheduling a make-up lesson. 

Please note that students are permitted two approved make-up lessons for missed lessons per four-month period: January-April, May-August, September-December.  All confirmed scheduling and scheduling changes must be communicated with the SPMCC staff, not only with the instructors.   

Same-Day Cancellations
Unfortunately, SPMCC cannot accommodate make-up lessons for same-day cancellations because we must be fair to our teachers and honor their teaching schedule.  For families that have two or more students (family, siblings, friends) on the same autobill account: if one student cancels but the other(s) attend(s), there are no make-ups for the student who cancels.

Tardiness

Students who arrive late to their lesson will be given the remainder of their allotted lesson time.

Stopping Your Lessons

If you wish to discontinue taking lessons, please inform us in writing by filling out a Discontinuation Form and submitting it to SPMCC via e-mail at southpasadenamusic@gmail.com or in-person with a SPMCC staff member.  Please fill out forms completely, as incomplete forms cause processing delays.

Please note that any paid lessons remaining are non-refundable. Discontinuation requests submitted by the 15th of each month ensures that your autobill will not be charged for the following month.  Remaining paid lessons can be held for a period of 6 months should you wish to resume lessons. Remaining lessons can also be transferred to family members, friends, or donated to our scholarship fund.

Substitute Instructors

SPMCC instructors are top musicians who are active in their professional fields of endeavor. Although SPMCC make every effort to provide consistency in instruction, occasionally our instructors have engagements and may be unavailable to teach a specific lesson. In these cases, we will provide a well-qualified substitute instructor. 

If SPMCC Cancels a Lesson

In the rare case that an Instructor is absent and there is no substitute teacher available, SPMCC will immediately notify you of the Instructor Cancellation and issue a refund of the missed lesson.  The refund will be made to the student’s automatic billing (autobill) account, in the form of a credit for the following month.

If a teacher is late for a lesson, you will still receive your full lesson time.

Ensemble and Class Tuition
All ensembles are billed on a monthly basis and are ongoing groups throughout the year.  After the first month of ensemble attendance, all ensemble students must sign up for autobill.  Ensembles and classes with a scheduled start/end date must be paid at the beginning of the session in-full, and are not refundable.  These classes typically run for 8 weeks at a time.  Please see our course catalogue for details on classes and ensembles offered.  Fees per class are listed on our website at www.southpasadenamusic.com. Fees are due in full prior to attending the first class.

Cancellation Policy for Ensembles and Classes

No full refunds will be granted after the first class day. There is a $25 processing fee for cancellations or program changes later than three weeks before session start date. Full refunds will be issued for any sessions cancelled by SPMCC.

Students who drop out or attend part of a class or ensemble will not be refunded tuition during the remainder of the class session.  All classes are subject to minimum and maximum enrollments.
